73 - Bridgeport, CT "Held For Postage"
Sent from New York City to Bridgeport, CT where straight-line "Held For Postage" was applied since the envelope required an additional one-cent in postage to pay the three-cent domestic rate. (Ex-Fosdyke-Ray) $125.00

73 - NYC Carrier with manuscript "Forwarded"
Beautiful duplex New York City CDS with four pointed star killer. Manuscript "Forwarded". (Ex-Fosdyke-Ray) $100.00

73 - New York City  with manuscript "Due 2"
New York City CDS ties stamp on cover to Fairfield, CT. Manuscript "Due 2" which was the penalty for the deficient one-cent in postage. (Ex-Fosdyke-Ray) $50.00

73 - Louisville, KY  with manuscript "Due 2"

Foreign Rates

73(x2) +78 Paying the 28c rate to Germany
A marvelous use from LaSalle, ILL sent via Boston and then via Prussian closed Mail to Germany. Appropriate German receiving mark on the back. Red Boston Br. Packet mark on the front.
